Over the last 20 years Act4Africa has changed attitudes, transformed communities, and saved lives across East Africa
We have achieved a lot and with your help, we can make an even bigger difference
Educated over 300,000 about gender equality
Provided quality early-years’ education to over 100 children through our own Kindergarten
Provide life skills, financial literacy and business enterprise skills to over 9000 disadvantaged women and girls
Supported 13 girls since 2018 to progress through higher education as part of our Grow A Girl programme
Provided 35 households with reliable grain storage silos, giving them reliable food security for up to twenty years
Run agronomy training sessions for the community increasing their knowledge and equipping them with simple, cost effective ways to improve their yields, family nutrition and income
Provided goats and animal husbandry training to women and girls, improving their economic independence and standing in the community
We have also responded quickly and effectively to the impact of COVID-19 and heavy flooding in Western Uganda, reaching over 500,000 people through radio education, emergency food parcels, the provision of PPE, and the distribution of learning resources
We confront gender inequalities, impacting on the root of problems causing life-long harm and discrimination
We tackle gender, health and education issues amongst young people, building firm foundations for future generations
We strengthen communities economically, helping to create a more stable, secure and sustainable future
We empower and enable people to help themselves
We use partnerships and collaboration to strengthen our work
We operate at the grass roots level to ensure we reach the most disadvantaged
We focus on youth and their energy and potential
We use performance, role-play, drama and storytelling, to share information successfully and impactfully
We react quickly and flexibly to the needs of our beneficiaries, working with them to adapt our programmes when necessary
We really appreciate your support for Act4Africa. Without your help, it wouldn’t be possible to continue our work in tackling gender inequality, changing lives and giving hope to women and girls in Africa.
